Q: What do providers need to do to incorporate the Framework into their Self-assessment Reports? Will the LSC produce guidance?

A: The LSC and Ofsted are both working with the Single Voice to support the Self-assessment: Updated Guidance for the FE System, which is now available on the LSC’s website.

Q: How does the Support for Excellence programme relate to the Framework?

A: The LSIS will use the Framework's data to inform the development and targeting of its programmes and services, and during 2008/09 it will also work to incorporate the appropriate Framework ratings in its corporate and performance-management processes.

Q: What guidance will the LSC start to give providers who are not yet in scope on how to prepare for the Framework?

A: In June 2008 the LSC published Phase 1 of the Framework, which details data-collection methods and how that information will inform decisions. All providers not in scope for Phase 1 are encouraged to start considering the Framework in the context of their business and their self-assessment.
