Publication and Dissemination
Q: How/when will the LSC publish results? Will the LSC make comparisons/judgements across the sector or by sector groupings (for example, general further education colleges, adult and community learning , work-based learning)? What level of detail will be made available?
A: In June 2009, there will be a limited publication of Framework scores for 2007/08. However, the LSC will share each provider’s scores (both published and unpublished) with the provider, and with the relevant people in local and regional LSCs, Ofsted, the Higher Education Funding Council for England, and the Learning and Skills Improvement Service (LSIS, formerly the QIA). The LSC will publish all outputs from the Framework in spring 2010.
Currently, the LSC is assessing how best to publish data and to what level, and carrying out research to investigate user expectations and requirements and this will inform our publication methods.
Q: How will the Framework link to the ‘Employers’ Guide to Good Training’?
A: Discussions are underway to ensure that Framework’s scores are incorporated within the guide. Further information will be published in due course.
Q: Will there be any feedback from the Learner Views survey to incorporate into the self-assessment report?
A: Yes – but this will not identify individual learners.
Q: What information from the Finance judgements will be in the public domain? What can be seen by ‘drilling down’?
A: The LSC will publish each provider’s Financial Health and Financial Management and Control grade in spring 2009. However, no ‘drill-down’ capability will be available: currently, the LSC is investigating what ‘drill-down’ capability will be provided from spring 2010 onwards.
