Learner Achievement Tracker (LAT)

The Learner Achievement Tracker (LAT) is the LSC's web application for the publication of post-16 Value Added (VA) and Distance Travelled (DT) scores.

LAT reports are available free-of-charge to all LSC-funded providers, local authorities and Ofsted. Qualifications in scope include most level 2 and level 3 qualifications, both academic and vocational. Reports for qualifications achieved in the 2006/07 academic year are currently available.

The A-Level VA scores are used to supplement the Success Rates performance indicator in the Framework for Excellence.  In 2008/09 Ofsted will continue to use the LAT alongside other VA measures to support judgements about learners’ progress. Consultation with schools and colleges is taking place in the autumn 2008 with a view to using the LAT directly as a primary VA measure.
